“Matt and Alex are the kindest and most accommodating hosts you could ever have and the menagerie of animals never leaves a dull moment! I throughly enjoyed the different personalities of the Llamas as well as helping with the feeding, training and grooming. I also learned a lot from Matt about general animal management, and now consider myself a bit of a pig whisperer / chicken hotel manager / llama lady extraordinaire. The balance between work and leisure was ideal, and I was trusted to manage my own time. They are also happy for you to pursue your own interests so I also made blackberry jam, apple pies and balsam flower gin during my stay. We also went on several adventures including a very memorable and epic long walk across the beautiful Preseli Hills, as well as several swims & BBQ's at the beach. “Being there was like being part of a family. There are so many animals and everyone had their own personality be it the llamas or the chickens or the pigs or Fintan the dog. The owners are both patient, loving, super fun, and joke around a lot. Especially with Matt, the banter is everflowing. They also realize and respect that everyone has different strengths and weaknesses, and put a lot of effort into ensuring that work is assigned accordingly. Matt is very chilled, pragmatic, and easygoing. Alex is one of the kindest people that I have ever come across. All the llamas were a funny experience just like all the other farm jobs. I have learned so much important stuff in this time! I felt myself welcome from the first day, you have always something to laugh about. We had many nights with funny games or interesting conversation or with a big bonfire or watching the beautiful star sky or watching a film! Same like the days off with nice trips to little towns or beaches or walking in the wood and discovering old ruins. It was really hard to leave this lovely place and family. “I had a wonderful experience at The Llama Sanctuary, staying at this beautiful farm with such a lovely family! I couldn't have expected better! The tents in which we were sleeping were so comfy! A lovely bed, cozy lights and decorations, a magnificent view over the nearby hills; all the ingredients for a magic stay! There is a lot of work to do at the farm, but I found the balance between work and leisure ideal. Time was flying while we were making satisfying and fun work! The whole family was adorable! They made me discover the local food and culture with such generosity and enthusiasm that I didn't want to leave.
